college and career day

college and career day

Every year we have a College and Career Day, which is a wonderful opportunity for our students to explore various career paths, learn about higher education options, and envision their future aspirations. We are thrilled to offer a diverse range of interactive activities and presentations designed to inspire and empower our young learners.

During College and Career Day, students have the chance to:

  • Engage with guest speakers representing different professions and industries
  • Participate in hands-on activities and demonstrations related to various careers
  • Learn about the importance of education, goal-setting, and planning for the future
  • Explore college and career resources and opportunities available to them.

IVC EXPO
Students from Cesar Chavez Elementary School are also exposed to college and career community events such as the yearly Imperial Valley College and Career Expo. Attending the expo the students were able to explore different college degree programs offered at their community college and careers that they can pursue in their future.

BIZTOWN
They also participate in The McGrath Family JA BizTown, which is a Junior Achievement’s experiential-based elementary school Capstone Program. Students active participate in a simulated community and are encouraged to use critical thinking skills as they build the foundation in business, economics, and free enterprise. Students develop a strong understanding of the relationship between what they learn in school and their successful participation in a local economy.
