PBIS Tier 2 Interventions
1. Check-In / Check-Out (CICO)
- Student checks in with an adult in the morning and checks out at the end of the day
- Daily behavior goals aligned with schoolwide expectations
- Parent signature and home communication
- Data tracked daily
2. Small-Group Social Skills Instruction
- Targeted groups focused on:
- Self-regulation
- Friendship skills
- Following directions
- Anger management
- Led by counselor, school psychologist, or trained staff
- Short-term (6–8 weeks)
3. Behavior Contracts or Goal-Setting Plans
- Clear expectations and goals
- Student-friendly language and visuals
- Reinforcement for meeting goals
- Reviewed regularly with student
4. Increased Positive Adult Attention
- Scheduled positive check-ins during the day
- Intentional praise and encouragement
- Relationship-building with a trusted adult
